Wearing the baseball cap with the Hollywood BadBoys logo pulled low over
his face, and with his head bowed, he walked down the street. As always,
he was careful that no one recognized him on his way to the Underground.
The exclusive club was located in the basement of the popular Until13
nightclub, reserved for VIP guests only. Guests like himself. Dylan Jones,
popular young Hollywood actor, 26 years old and at the peak of his career,
with countless film offers, advertising contracts, endorsement fees, and
hordes of groupies. What more could a man ask for, except a break from all
the stress of being in the public eye?
That was exactly why he was going to the Underground tonight. Whenever
his packed schedule allowed, he met up with his friends there. They were
all part of the Hollywood machinery, though some were more successful,
some were just starting out, and others were already veterans.
One thing they all had in common was the desire to be on their own,
without constantly having to watch out for annoying cameras. To be who
they actually were, not who they were supposed to be in public. Most of
them had to play to the perfectly designed images their PR and marketing
agents had invented for them, day in, day out.
That was why Ben, the owner of Until13, had launched the Underground in
the basement of the building. The only way to get in there was with a gold
card or a specific invitation from one of the members, something that
happened regularly. After all, you needed the right women for a proper
party night. Someone willing. One of those beautiful girls who’d do
anything for the celebrities present, even if they did have to hand over their
cameras as soon as they entered the Underground.
Dylan knocked on the gray steel door of the old factory building. Within
moments, it was opened from the inside.
Mason, the security guard, just glanced at Dylan’s face and allowed him in.
He recognized him immediately, even without Dylan having to show his
gold card.
No surprise there. Everyone in Hollywood knew his name and face. Being
above average helped, too. At 6’4”, he was broad and ripped. Women loved
his short black hair, and he’d never met one he couldn’t win over with just
one look from his ice-blue eyes, which were slightly angled and framed by
thick eyelashes.
For his hard body, though, he had to work. It meant slaving away in the
gym almost every day, but his body was his capital. Without a six-pack, he
wouldn’t get parts in the movies women loved.
