CHARLESTON, WEST VIRGINIA – Police say a man was discovered
deceased in his room at Memorial Hospital, just after 3 a.m. A second
victim was found shortly thereafter, prompting a search of the facility. By
3:30 a.m., all male patients staying in Memorial Hospital were confirmed
deceased, at which point, the hospital was evacuated.
“It was scary,” said survivor, Calie Ahmed. “All the bodies were lying
bizarrely on the floor, like they fell out of bed and died.”
An unidentified seven-year-old was the only witness to alleged foul
play, having woken when she heard struggling in the adjacent room.
“Something came into my room,” the seven-year-old said. “But I kept my
eyes closed. I couldn’t look at it. I knew if I looked at it, it would kill me.”
When questioned about the seven-year-old’s claims, Chief of Police
Steven Brown stated, “The witness was heavily sedated at the time.”
Investigations into cause of death are being undertaken. Police
attempted to retrieve surveillance footage, which had reportedly been
deleted. A data recovery team is on-site.
“I haven’t seen anything like it before, but we’ve got an experienced
team here and we will find out what happened to these men,” Brown said in
a statement.
