Restless Heart
Luca
Luca Wolfheart was in his workshop. It was like his own little world, a
place where he could just tune out all the pack drama and lose himself in
his craft. The warm, golden light filtering through the high windows
made the whole room feel cozy and inviting. And the smell? Man, it was like a
mix of wood, metal, and leather all rolled into one – the kind of scent that just
filled your lungs and made you feel at home.

So, there he was, standing at his workbench, his hands working like magic
on his latest project – this wicked hunting knife. The blade was so shiny and
sharp, it could probably cut through anything. And Luca? He was totally in the
zone, etching these crazy detailed designs into the handle like it was nothing.
The workshop was like a treasure hunt, with shelves packed full of jars,
leather, and all sorts of raw materials. And the forge in the corner? It was
glowing like a beacon, casting this warm, orange light that made everything
feel a little bit warmer. Everywhere you looked, there were Luca’s creations –
swords, bows, armor – each one a masterpiece in its own right.

But even as he worked, Luca’s mind kept drifting to the upcoming pack
run. It was his chance to show his father and brother that he was more than
just the spare, the second-best. He wanted their approval so badly, to feel like
he belonged. But at the same time, a part of him just wanted to rebel against
their expectations.

Just then, he heard footsteps and looked up to see his mother, Emilia,
walking into the workshop. She was this tall, classy lady with warm brown
eyes and a smile that could melt even the coldest heart.
“Luca, my love,” she said, her voice soft and worried. “You’ve been holed up
in here for hours. Everything okay?”

Luca put down his tools and turned to look at her, a small smile tugging at
his lips. “I’m good, Mother. Just working on a new project.”
His mother stepped closer, checking out the knife on the workbench. “It’s
gorgeous, Luca. Your father would be so proud.”
Luca’s smile faltered, and he looked away. “I doubt it. He’s never been
proud of anything I’ve done.”

She reached out, putting her hand on Luca’s shoulder. “That’s not true,
Luca. Your father loves you, even if he’s not always the best at showing it.”
Luca sighed, his shoulders sagging under the weight of his doubts. “I just
want to prove myself, Mother. To show him that I’m worthy of being his son.”
“You don’t need to prove anything, Luca,” his mother said, her voice firm
but kind. “You’re a talented craftsman, a loyal member of the pack, and a
loving son. That’s all that matters.”
