“How long are you gonna wait on this fucker?”
Stone was president of the Silent Chains Motorcycle Club. He had
agreed to a rare exclusive interview for the local paper. Four club members
along with one of their girlfriends sat with him in a small cafe waiting for
the reporter.
Stone sat in the corner staring through a window.
“You sure he understood the conditions of this meeting?”
“He understood,” Stone replied as he leaned forward onto the small
table with his forearms.
He watched a car door open moments before black designer heels
touched the pavement. A woman emerged from the car and glanced to the
sign above the entrance, then to the sheet of paper she held. She dropped
her keys into the bag hanging from her shoulder and pushed the car door
closed.
Stone’s eyes never left her as she pushed open the glass door, causing a
tiny bell hanging above it to ring.
“He’s twenty minutes late,” Truck commented again.
Stone only nodded. His mind concentrating on the tall polished beauty
standing at the counter.
Her golden brown hair, twisted perfectly onto her head, exposed a slim
and inviting neck. Emerald green hugged her body and arms, same as the
black skirt barely covering her knees.
Stone watched intently as the tall thin man behind the counter nodded
towards him when she spoke. She spun, looking in his direction.

When Jax turned, she saw a table with three men in leather vests and a
woman. Next to them two more bikers occupied another table. She
swallowed and stepped to the table next to the window.
“Mr. Stone?”
Laughter erupted at the table behind her.
Stone leaned against the metal chair and crossed his arms.
“Just Stone,” he said.
