Corey Hiscock watched the land grow larger in the window as the
plane made its descent. Corey had come home after almost two years
away when he’d said he’d only be gone for six months. He wasn’t the
same Corey now. He still had the same mouth when someone pissed him
off, but he’d grown up…a lot.
Being away and living on his own, making new friends and learning
new skills had helped Corey to mature and make important decisions about
his life.

Corey had to go. He couldn’t stay and not be with Beckett. He needed to
move on and being around the other man made that increasingly difficult to
do. Corey had missed his family, especially his brothers, but he’d grown
and learned a lot about who he was and what he wanted from his life.
The plane banked as it made the last turn and lined up with the runway,
and Corey’s stomach flipped. He still loved Beckett, but he was stronger
now. Whatever decisions he made would be in his best interest and not
because he missed someone.

It had taken almost a year away before he could even contemplate a
relationship with another man, and it had failed miserably. So had the next
and the one after that. Corey had sat down and thought hard about his life
and the dawning realization that Beckett would always have a piece of his
heart. He needed some form of closure, or he would never move on and
find love with another man.

He gripped the sides of his seat when the plane touched down and they
taxied to the arrival gate and Sully, who would be waiting for him. Dustin,
his brother, was working and couldn’t come, but Sully had managed to get
the day off from the veterinary place he worked. Luckily for Corey, Sully
worked with Corey’s cousin, Archer, so it hadn’t been too difficult.

Thirty minutes later and Corey was leaving the plane and walking down
the corridor to where he could get his suitcases. He’d left more behind than
he was bringing home, but they were only things, nothing of any
importance. The items he wanted he’d brought with him, and for now, he
would live with Sully and Dustin.

Man, he hoped Dustin waxed that thing he called a chest. Hairy fucker
could support entire species in it.
Once he grabbed his suitcases, which took far longer than he’d
expected, Corey was making his way out into the main airport and
searching for Sully. It didn’t help that both of them were short fuckers, so
Corey was jumping up and down searching for his friend.

“Corey!”
Corey spun around, and there Sully was, waving and smiling, and he
grinned back. “Sully!” Sully ran over to him, and Corey dropped his
suitcases, and the two hugged. Corey was laughing and crying at the same
time, only now realizing the true extent of how much he’d missed Sully.
Sully was no better. All blotchy and red, he pulled back and said, “I
never look good when I cry, damn you!”
