Hephaestus
he day I’ve been dreading is finally here. Today, I turn twenty and
must leave to start my reign on Olympus. Most gods would be eager
to start their reign, but I hate that I’m leaving Kharis behind for an entire
sun cycle.
The past two years have gone by too quickly. Kharis and I have grown
closer than I ever thought imaginable. The thought of not being with her
everyday weighs upon me like an anvil upon my shoulders. I’m not sure

hold a grudge against whoever abandoned me and cast me out of Olympus,
but if that hadn’t happened, I would have never met Kharis. In some weird
twisted game of the Fates, I’m thankful they did.
I set her back down and instantly she clings to me, resting her head on
my chest as I gently stroke her beautiful platinum hair. I don’t ever want to
let her go and can feel the sadness radiating off her. With hands held, we sit
down together under the shade of
