Seven years later
“It’s been a while,” Tracey, the bartender, purrs loudly as she serves me a
beer.
“Been busy,” I reply, and bring the bottle to my lips. It’s been over a year
since I fucked her, and whenever I see her, she makes it clear that she wants
to have a repeat, but I don’t want anything serious. That’s not something I’m
ready for. However, going by the possessive look in Tracey’s eyes, that’s
exactly what she’s after.
“You haven’t called,” she says, and glances down at her hands. This is
something I don’t understand. Tracey is extremely comfortable with who she
is. She’s a take-charge woman who knows exactly what she wants. Yet she’s
acting as though she’s shy.
“No need,” I bite out. I’m a bastard, but I don’t give a fuck. The woman
should have taken the hint a year ago. We fucked once, and I made it clear
before I even went near her that it was a one-time deal, but she doesn’t seem
to be listening to me.
“Don’t you have work to do?” I question when I spot people down the
other end of the bar trying to get her attention.
Her eyes flash with anger, and she flips her hair over her shoulder.
Thankfully, she musters up what’s left of her dignity and makes a swift exit.
“Brother,” Raptor says, his voice filled with laughter. “You were an
asshole, man, but fuck, she’s not goin’ to give a fuck. She’ll be back.”
I take another sip of my beer, my gut churning at the thought. If she does,
I’m going to lose my damn temper, and then she’ll know just how much of an
asshole I can be.
“Best way to show her you’re not interested is to find someone else to
fuck tonight. She’ll soon get the hint.”
I scan the bar, knowing that Raptor’s right. But fuck, it’s been a while
since I’ve had someone new to fuck. I have a few women I rotate around,
ones I know aren’t going to get attached. Tonight, I want someone new,
someone different.
“Damn.” Raptor grins. “Pyro’s on the prowl. Fuckin’ hell, man, tonight’s
shapin’ up to be fuckin’ fantastic.”
