– LIAH –
Archer strides out of his office with a load of files under his arm. I
glance over my shoulder in the direction of my twin brothers who are
standing in front of church. They give me a thumbs up and I take a deep
breath to gather the strength I need to push through this moment.
“Prez, I’d like a word, please,” I tell Archer.

He might not be my president because women aren’t allowed to be a
member of the MC but they are surely part of it. I was raised in this MC. My
father is a member, and so are my older twin brothers.
Hell, my mother was an agent, working for the government, before
she became involved with my dad. Actually, it’s the reason they met. Her
sister, my aunt Reva, was missing at the time and my mother went to meet
them to ask for Broken Deeds’ help.

Aunt Reva ended up with North, the biker who saved her, who
happened to be my father’s best friend. They are very tight, the same way my
mother and her twin sister are, and it’s as if they were always meant to be
together. They’ve been solving cases together ever since.

It’s what Broken Deeds does; when the government can’t close a case,
they give it to them. Broken Deeds MC is allowed to use any means
necessary to bring justice as they deem fit. This being my foundation and
background, it’s what motivated me to step out from under the heavy load of
following in all of their footsteps and build my own career by myself.
It might sound strange, but as their youngest daughter, I wanted to
prove myself and stand on my own two feet to follow my own path separate
from their watchful eye. I wasn’t a guy who could become a member of the
MC they were all involved in so I followed my heart and what I loved most;
taking out a target.

My father and uncle North both taught me how to use weapons at an
early age. Uncle North mostly because he’s a weapon expert and it turns out,
I have a knack for it and developed my skills to perfection. My parents were
damn proud when I became the youngest sniper for the government. The best
in my expertise…until recently.

My last assignment didn’t go as planned. I was about to take out my
target but I was shot right before I could pull the trigger. Long story short, my
arm suffered nerve damage and I had to endure surgery, rehabilitation, and a
lot of effort to pull through and regain full function. I’m still not a hundred
percent and don’t think I’ll ever be but at least I’m able to shoot again; never
at the top level I once was, though.
