I POP THE TRUNK OF my white Tesla and heave an enormous bag of
clothes over my shoulder. I love being a social media influencer and love,
even more, the free samples of beauty products and ridiculous amounts of
clothing and shoes companies send me to promote on my accounts.
Now that I’ve made a name for myself, I can be more selective with the
companies I work with. Which means my closet is constantly bursting at the
seams with more clothes than I know what to do with. A problem my
sisters-in-law have no problem helping me with. They have fun shopping
through my closet, and the rest I donate to local women’s shelters and local
high schools.
I straighten the strap to my new bag, courtesy of an up and coming
young, local entrepreneur. Another perk of having more than three million
followers is I no longer work for the giant conglomerates. I enjoy finding
and supporting women working from home trying to support their families.
Naomi, founder of Klutch My Heart, makes the most amazing bags of
all shapes and sizes. The stylish beach bag I’m carrying in white and pink is
my new favorite. The fact it can fit eight dresses, ten tops, six skirts, and
four pairs of shoes is another bonus.
Most likely Reese will only keep a couple items. My sister-in-law has a
passion for fashion that comes close to my level, but since Logan makes
more money than God, and she works with him at LP Financials, she feels
bad about taking free handouts when there are so many women who need
the items more than she does.
Usually, Reese selects the dresses that aren’t as practical for women
around these parts. It isn’t like there are many fancy gatherings in coastal
Maine. There are quite a few fine dining restaurants, but other than that,
jeans, sweatshirts, and sneakers are more the style in Acadia Falls. Except
now in the middle of July when everyone wears shorts and tank tops.
“Hey, Cami,” Reese greets me at the door of her beach house and gives
me a one-armed hug. “Sorry about the noise. We finally hired someone to
work on the patio and do a little landscaping.”
“No worries.”
While the home has a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean, and more
beachfront property than most luxury homes in Maine, the backyard isn’t
very kid friendly. Not that Reese and Logan have any little ones running
around, but our brother Nick and his wife Skylar have two kids.
I adore my five-year-old niece, Gabriella, and my two-year-old nephew,
Theo. In a few months, Holden and Emerson will add to the grandchild
squad, making our parents and our niece and nephew extremely happy.
Meanwhile, at almost twenty-seven, I’m in no rush. I have the most
perfect life. Awesome parents, three pretty cool brothers, three fabulous
sisters-in-law, an MBA from NYU, and have been one hundred percent
financially independent since twenty-three.
“Come on upstairs. I’m in the middle of washing the bedding, so my
room looks like the linen closet exploded.”
