Philly
Eight Months Later…
“How the fuck you get the weight wrong with a fucking scale right next
to you? That’s why a muthafucka can’t leave the game because y’all dumb
niggas out here would be hopeless. Get the fuck outta here befo’ I put some
hot shit in yo’ ass.”
He mugged me for a minute like he didn’t know who the fuck I was. I
swiftly pulled my gun from my waistband and pointed it between his eyes.

“Yo’ last warning, nigga.”
He got some get right in him, real quick. That nigga was falling over
shit trying to get out the trap house. These niggas stayed tryna test me. My
body count was high as fuck, dealing with these country muthafuckas that
thought they were tough shit. Proving otherwise had become one of my
favorite pastimes. After he left, I got somebody else on his job, then made
my way out. Ames was a small country town, smaller than Liberty, but it
was the best place to keep my shit somewhat discreet, back in what we
called the forty. There was a damn forest before you got to forty acres of
cleared land, making it hidden from passersby.

I looked around the premises to make sure wasn’t no shady shit going
on, then me and Muscle got in my black-on-black Tahoe and rolled out.
Muscle was the nigga that had my back. He was with me everywhere I
went… unless I was stalking my ex-wife. Kema Richardson Semien. Kema
was my love. I fucked up our marriage and it haunted me every day. Our
divorce had been finalized for months, but I couldn’t give up trying to get
her back. If she knew I was watching her, she’d probably file a restraining
order against me.

I missed her. Begging her not to sign those papers was the lowest I’d
ever felt. Even the death of my dad, then my mom didn’t feel this bad. That
girl had been the one. When I first saw her in school, I liked her. We went to
elementary school together. We’d been knowing each other all our lives, but
I was on something different in high school. I wanted to be more than just
her friend or acquaintance. I really couldn’t say we were friends, but we
were familiar with one another. That all changed our tenth-grade year. I
wanted to be her nigga… her be all.

We ended up dating, but near the end of our eleventh-grade year, she
had enough. I’d started selling during the summer after tenth grade. So, she
gave me nearly a year to reevaluate what I was doing. When she saw that I
had no intentions of stopping, she broke up with me. She was always the
one who had gotten away. But the lifestyle had swallowed me whole. I was
like a fiend. Just like they craved the shit to smoke or shoot up their veins, I
craved supplying it. The fast money, power, and respect that the game got
me was a high I didn’t wanna come down from.
